- But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
In vain do they worship, holding man’s decree,
Where roots of earth’s plants, heaven shall not see.
Customs may tower, traditions may stand tall,
Yet, divine command, outlasts them all.
For every work judged, secrets come to light,
Man’s inventions fail, in God’s righteous sight.
Hold fast to His word, let no tradition sway,
For only His commands, the true path lay.
